How we size boards
The Board Fitter works out the board length, width and volume that suit your weight, experience, passengers and the kind of paddling you do. It uses the rules from our paddle board size guide, and every sizing tool on the site uses those same rules.
How we pick boards
The Fitter matches you against 57 boards. 12 come from our own reviews and roundups. The other 45 are boards recommended in current buyer's guides by independent testers: OutdoorGearLab, GearJunkie, Paddling Magazine, The Inertia, Outdoor Life, Field & Stream, Treeline Review, Switchback Travel and Outside. Each board shows who recommends it, with a link to their review.
- Boards are ranked only by how well they fit you.
- Whether a board earns us a commission plays no part in the ranking, and brands can't pay to be included.
- Specs and prices come from the maker or the retailer. Prices change, so treat any price you see as approximate.
How we write reviews and guides
Facts in our articles (specs, prices, rules, water temperatures) come from sources, and we list them. When a recommendation relies on someone else's testing, we say whose. If something is wrong or out of date, please tell us and we'll fix it.
How the site is paid for
The site is free to use. Some links to stores are affiliate links: if you buy through one, the store may pay us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Read the details in our affiliate disclosure, and see what data the site does and doesn't collect in our privacy policy.
